A simple, easy-to-use graphical application for using fingerprint devices on Linux
This C++ written software provides a POSIX-compatible fingerprint GUI (Graphical User Interface) forLinux operating systems
, allowing users to easily use fingerprint devices with their favorite distribution.
Fingerprint GUI is comprised of a collection of graphical utilities that ease the use of fingerprint scanners on Linux-based operating systems, enabling the recording, as well as checking of fingerprints of users.
It can be used to login into your Linux system, as well as an authentication system through its PAM module. Also included in this project, is an application called "fingerprintIdentifier," which can be used for identification and authentication of custom shell scripts.
Fingerprint GUI was tested with many built-In UPEK fingerprint readers, as well as with the AuthenTec AES2501A, AuthenTec AES1660, and the Microsoft fingerprint reader.

Limitations:
- KDE enviroments: The "Fingerprint PAM" does not work for login and unlocking kscreensaver due to a bug in kdm and kscreensaver on some systems. Please have a look at the bugreports 182623 and 105631 and vote for it
